I have a very vague memory of being taken, by my parents to the (only) department store in Gouda, in about 1954, to be fitted with my first "suit".
(Tante (Aunt) Mien was getting married!)
I believe the money for this came from Mr and Mrs Eikenboom, who owned "Flora" the (boutique) ceramics factory, in Gouderak.
Since last night, I now suspect that Cor (Cornel) Mul was working in that store, at the time!
My memory is certainly NOT as clear as my father's was because I'm a little vague about how good the new clothes had to be and whether we ended up going to Rotterdam where the really big department stores were.
Summary: Carel Akemann is hoping to find an old colleague, called Cor Mul, with whom he worked in Bruns, or V.& D.. He knows that Cor Mul moved on to Streefkerk.
The only Cor Mul, on a distant branch of my family tree, who MAY fit that description, is Cornelis Franciscus Antonius MUL, who was born in Gouda, on 21 September 1932, son of Judith Francisca Maria Jansen and Christiaan Mul.
Can anyone help put Carel Akemann in contact with Cor Mul?!?!?
